Where Art Stops Time

gallery view

Rae Douglass Gallery, previously known as the Giorgi Gallery, has been a relaxed, european style space to display art and hear live music and events for the last two decades. Located within the historic firehouse designed by noted architect William Ratcliff, the Giorgi has provided a cultural base to the neighborhood around the Claremont Hotel.

The gallery offers a generous exhibit space, complete with a small stage and a Steinway grand piano, that is used for gallery shows, performances and events. To the rear of the gallery is an artist studio equipped with a large format giclee printer and sculpture garden.

In July of 2009 Rae Douglass was invited by Harriet and Francesca Giorgi to become resident artist and curate shows at the Giorgi. In August of 2010 Rae assumed control of the gallery. Rae brings the unique vision and studio practice that he has developed through his success creating large scale public art and architecture.
